| About the Red Hat Society |
| The Red Hat Society is a social organization for women over 50. It was inspired by the poem, Warning, by Jenny Joseph which begins “When I am an old woman I shall wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me.” The Society was founded in 1998 by Sue Ellen Cooper of Fullerton, California and there are currently over 1 million members world wide. Red Hat Society members belong to Chapters, each having their own “Queen Mother” or “Queen Mum” and usually a “Vice Queen” or “Vice Queen Mum”. Red Hat Fashions 4 U carries officially licensed Red Hat Society products such as Red Hat State Pins which are a great way for Red Hat ladies to show where they are from when they attend out of state Red Hat events.
